I finally managed to catch the Sopranos finale tonight. All in all, I have to say that I enjoyed it. Great performance by Carmella in this one, and in general, the story took some great turns. The fifth and final season should be pretty incredible. I often think about how awesome the Godfather was, and how it was sad that there was only about 9 hours of film in that saga. Think about it….by the time the Sopranos is over, it will be over 65 hours of footage. So cool.
Work: things are rolling along up in Connecticut. This silly assignment keeps stretching along. It may end next week, or it may not….either way though, its done soon. It’s looking pretty good for the next project to be in NY. I look at it this way; at least I have received some pretty awesome training while I have been here. Today I did some work on a cool proposal, and I am hoping that it turns into a nice project.
Books: Lately, I’ve been getting back into reading alot more, not quite back at my old ferocious pace, but almost. Recently, I devoured the new Palahniuk “Lullaby” and I’m burning through Hitchens’ “The Trial of Henry Kissenger” right now. I still can’t help but come back to the thought that I need to start writing more. As many who know me often realize, I tend to go into mini-theses or diatribes, and I think that if I channeled those thoughts onto paper, and augmented them with a little bit of the research I so enjoy doing, I could probably come out with some pretty amazing essays. Eventually, I might even have a book. I mean, these days, most books start off as an essay anyway. Maybe I am destined to be like another Gore Vidal or Christopher Hitchens, only better.
Life in General: What else? I’m getting back into being healthy, cutting out the crap and eating better, drinking water, exercising. I’m playing more guitar. I’m actually working on a new website layout —- I know, I’ve said that for a while, but its true. I’m cooking more when I am home, and I am starting to experiment more in the kitchen. I am also saving recipes. And, I’m stocked with wine. And….I finished all of my holiday shopping. Alot of that is due to Jen working in a great store for the holiday, I must add. Ahhh…..we make a great team. All in all, things are looking pretty great.
I am completely exhausted, but thought I should check in. Time to enjoy some rest.
