So…let’s see. Tuesday night, I checked out the Wizard’s/76’ers game at the MCI Center with Linora and crew. Definitely a good time, though only my second b-ball game ever. After that, I headed over to the Willard Hotel for a little evening rendezvous which turned out to be more than fabulous. Unfortunately, my late night, coupled with the fact that I had to be in early added up to not enough sleep.
Last night, I managed to get a bit of food shopping done and made plans with Dave for our historic weekend to come. After that, I checked out Black Hawk Down over in Ballston. Amazing. The book was fantastic, but the movie definitely took it to a new level visually. If you could envision a film as graphic as Saving Private Ryan, but actually having a point, then this would be it. Ridley Scott did a very nice job contrasting the young American soldiers who had trained to fight but never actually saw any action to the Somalis whose way of life had been war for many years. Very nice job.
Of course this morning, I managed to get on the wrong train not once but twice. Not a very fun experience. I think I may have been the first person ever with Metro Rage.
Then of course, I noticed this story about al Qaeda moving into the Palestinian territories. Now…who knows if its true or not, considering that the Palestinian cause was never one of their big thrusts, but it wouldn’t put it past them. In fact, I almost beg them to do it, just to allow Israel to finish this thing once and for all. The Palestinians have already proven that all they are interested in is driving the Jews into the sea. The way I see it, if these people cannot realize that Jerusalem is a place for all faiths, then they deserve to die. By letting al Qaeda in there, they just gave us an excuse to clean house.
Anyway…drinks with Nate later and then an incredible weekend in New York, culminating in Lo and Lorilo’s wedding party. Woo-hoo!
