So…kept it fairly lo-pro on Friday while I waited for Dave to get down here. Did some shopping and cleaning and then walked around for a while enjoying the weather. Dave rolled in about 1am, and he, Jen and I grabbed a beer at the Four Courts where there were nothing but drunks starting their St. Patty’s day early. Saturday, we headed back to the Florida Avenue Grill for a mean breakfast of pork chops and eggs (yum), followed by a day at the International Beer Festival. It was pretty funny because you had to wear a nametag to get in, but they didn’t care what it said, so I was “Captain Chaos” (pronounced “Chowse” by the bright lady at the door). It was pretty fun. Very warm and some wierd characters, but overall, we got to sample some great stuff, including all the Abita, Brooklyn, Sam Smith’s, and Omegang we could handle. They even had food from Fresh Fields. Woo-hoo!
We followed everything up with dinner at the Cactus Cantina and then a major nap. Waking up at about 10, we met up with Jen’s friends Cat and Rena at a house party in Capital Hill, from which we rolled over to a Karaoke Bar in Adams Morgan where we didn’t get to sing 🙁 Once the damage was assessed Sunday morning, we hit Whitey’s in Arlington for breakfast and sent Dave packing sometime mid-afternoon. Last night, Jen, Rena and I pulled it together to go see Stanton Moore and More at the 9:30 club. After the show, the band was signing autographs, so I was able to get Stanton, Chris Wood and Brian Seeger to sign my CD. “Adam, Stay Funky. -Stanton Moore”
Today I am shot and don’t feel like working. After my conversation with Nukes this morning, I think I need to get on the summer workout kick immediately. Sigh.
