So, I guess I have been neglecting the site (sorry Nukes). A few brief updates while I sit here and think warm thoughts.
The weekend was pretty fun. Checked out a cool little restaurant on Capital Hill called Two Quail on Thursday. It was really cosy like a little grandmother’s house or something, but the food was nectar. I had Filet Mignon stuffed with bacon. OMG. That was followed by the Missouri game at a bar called Senators. Friday was dinner at Raku (a cool little Asian diner place in Dupont) with a few of Jen’s friends and then coffee and desert at the infamous Kramerbooks. Saturday, we did a group outing to the Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus at MCI Center where we ate enough Cotton Candy to make anyone sick (but it came with a free clown nose, so how can you go wrong?) Overall, seeing the circus again rocked, but there was just not enough trapeze action for my tastes. That and the silly “Bo and Bella” song began to get on my nerves after 37 refrains. That night, we rolled over to some Irish bar called Kelly’s Irish Times where many Jack and Cokes were consumed. Soon the party headed over to the Dubliner next door, where more Jack and Cokes were consumed and songs were sung very loudly by myself and some other Missouri folk. Things got funny once Jen’s friends rolled and she and I ordered more drinks before she proclaimed to me that she was “done”. The rest of the night was pretty much comedy, but that’s just for me.
Sunday was brunch at a place called Luna with a Prince-lookalike-waiter, watching participants in the first annual DC marathon roll by Jen’s crib, and then a walk around Roosevelt Island, which is a cool little wooded island on the Potomac. All in all….good times.
My apartment still had some kind of funk in it from that whole water heater incident so I called maintenance the other day and yesterday they sent a crew in to clean the rugs again. I think they should just replace the damn things, but what do I know? It smells nice now, so we’ll see how long that lasts.
Last night was dedicated to looking at taxes, but it didn’t happen. Hopefully, I will take a crack at that tonight. I just finished a cup of pretty crappy coffee and am looking to go home. Isn’t this supposed to be spring? Where is the warm weather? Why is April 23rd so far away? There are three new Wilco-related albums coming out that day. 🙁 grrr
So…coming home this weekend for the Passover/Easter thang. It will be nice to tear it up NY-NJ style. oh yeah…Nicole had a baby girl last night. Woo-hoo! Congrats, Nicole!
Ok…hands tired. Must stop typing.
