So, overall, pretty good birthday, I must say. This weekend, Jen and I spent time with Stacy and her man down in the fabulous city of Red Bank where we had drinks, dinner, and more drinks, followed by hangovers. Sunday, we rolled over to Spring Lake where we enjoyed what may have been the most perfect beach day ever: not too hot, sunny, few clouds, and warm water. We got tans, read and enjoyed being total vegetables. After we had our fill on the beach, we made our way over to the Squan where we proceeded to gorge ourselves with an enormous dinner complete with Louisiana-Style appetizers (dont’ ask).
It was back to work on Monday, but then I was offered a ticket to the Pearl Jam show at PNC by Mr. Dave. Two words: Growing Up….As in Springsteen, baby. That along with songs from all of the albums and an encore performance complete with Sleater Kinney on backing vocals, all sixties go-go, mod-stylee…..it was well worth it….
Today, work was brutal after a few hours of sleep, but I managed to pull through and get out at a reasonable hour. Went back to OB and had some chinese food with the family unit and even scored a few presents. Finally, Jen and I met up around 10:30 after she got off of work, and we enjoyed a drink and dessert at this ritzy hotel, and then I got……MORE PRESENTS! I scored big today: a bunch of cool shirts, a Herbie Mann CD, a Roy Orbison CD, a vegetable chopper, a shower mirror, two hula girl mugs and this crazy steamer thing…..All in all, it was a good time. Now if, you’ll excuse me…I’m shredded and must wake up in Five hours.
