So, the weekend was pretty mean. Friday night, Jen and I checked out this event at the National Geographic building hosted by Eileen Torres on the history of Salsa music. It had live dancing, lecture, music and video, and then it was followed by some basic lessons and a dance party. Pretty crazy. Unfortunately, there were alot of pros there which made the dancing part a little intimidating, but it was fun. Saturday, we checked out the latin tapas brunch at Cafe Atlantico and then hit the National Gallery to see the Goya and Medici Botanical Garden exhibits in addition to alot of other cool stuff. Missed out on the Japanese festival which was essentially a giant street fair, but grabbed dinner at Gordon Biersch (sp?). That night we consumed many drinks at Gazuza with Rita and her man, getting a little silly in the process. Sunday, I finally finished up my taxes, and they are looking good.
Monday was gorgeous out, so after work, grabbed some sushi, went for a walk and then caught “Kissing Jessica Stein” again. Jen almost died when they talked about blending lipsticks starting with the “Viva Glam III” base. 🙂 I knew that would be a hit.
Anyway…tonight, we will be catching the emo-licious sounds of Dashboard Confessional at the 9:30 club. I am sooooooooo excited. The Anniversary is one of the opening bands, too, so that is an extra treat. Other than that, I am making serious headway on this database design and looking forward to getting the hell out of this office.
