Well….The weekend was pretty aewsome. Got into Jersey really late Thursday night and spent most of Friday making last minute preps for the wedding. Friday night we had the rehearsal dinner at Cafe Z in Union. Food was awesome, and Dave got all the groomsmen tickets to a Giants game in December. We escorted Mr. Geller home that night and picked him up early in the AM. It seemed as if all of the fates were against us on Saturday, however, we were able to make it to the hotel in New Rochelle by about 11:30 or so. Geller and Beder had awesome little goody bags for everyone who checked into the hotel….it was pretty rad.
We hung by the pool for a while and got nice and tan; before you know it, it was 3:00 and time for pictures so we zooted up in the tuxes and headed over to the VIP Country Club. After a grueling three hours of pictures and beer (ok, not so grueling) the wedding started up. Brooke was beautiful, the ceremony was awesome, and I got to sign the Katubah (or at least the Rabbi signed it for me). The cocktail hour was phenomenal, complete with sushi, mashed potato bar, and the best lamb I have ever tasted. Once the reception started, we kicked into a monstrous horah that left us all soaked with sweat (we should have taken off our jackets). We even had to bring in an extra couple of men to hoist mr. Geller. Of course, they called me up to give my speech the second we finished the dance, but I think I did ok.
The band was phenomenal, as was the meal, as was the amazing Viennese table for dessert. I’m talking Bananas Foster, chocolate covered strawberries, schmutz, and cannolis, just to name a few things. About 1am, things started wrapping up, and we all got the Sunday NY Times and croissants on the way out. Sunday, was a great brunch to wrap things up, and then we had our mega trek back to Jersey for Jen’s grandmother’s birthday party. A quick stop to say hi to my folks, and we were back to DC again.
Last night, Jen and I checked out the Gipsy Kings at Wolf Trap, and I managed to wrap up the evening by acting like a total jackass. Today I’m preparing for my presentation for class. Still no word on the assignment. Bluh.
